Kick The Stigma: The Men's Grooming Brand Built on Mental Health

Kick The Stigma founder story and men's grooming brand launch

We're Not Just Another Grooming Brand. We're Kick The Stigma.

I'll be honest with you - I never set out to build a grooming brand. What I set out to do was change the way men talk about their mental health. Everything else came from that single, stubborn belief that men deserve better than silence.

It started in 2022 when I launched Raisa's Barbers. And before you ask - no, I'm not a barber. But I had a vision that went far beyond haircuts. I wanted to create a space where anyone could walk through the door - regardless of background, faith, race or gender - and feel genuinely safe. What I witnessed in that chair changed me. Barbers don't just cut hair. For men especially, their barber is their confidante, their friend, someone who listens without judgement and sends them back out into the world feeling better than when they walked in. I saw that up close every single day.

We didn't stop there. We launched an annual charity five-a-side tournament - Kick The Stigma - raising over £4,000 for our local MIND branch. We pioneered the Trim Talk campaign led by Westminster Council, training barbers as mental health first aiders, and we were featured on BBC News and BBC Radio for it. But here's what kept nagging at me - we were helping men one at a time, in that chair, once or twice a month. What about the other 28 days? That question built Kick The Stigma Store.

Every man has a morning routine. You wash your face, you style your hair, you get yourself together before you face the day. We built a product range around that moment - handmade in the UK, certified organic ingredients, 100% vegan and cruelty-free, created with expert barbers who know what men actually need. But more than any of that, every product carries a message: you matter, and your mental health matters too.

We made one deliberate decision early on. We donate from every sale - not from profit, because profit is affected by too many variables and that is not the promise I want to make. 5% of every purchase goes directly to mental health charities. No asterisks, no small print.

Raisa's Barbers proved a barbershop can be a frontline for men's mental health. Kick The Stigma Store takes that same ethos beyond four walls - into bathrooms, gyms, offices and living rooms across the UK and beyond. We are building a movement, and movements are built by people who show up and make small, consistent choices that add up to something real. Every product you buy is one of those choices.

Welcome to Kick The Stigma. Let's get to work.
